Jeff Michaels was born in the apple country of New York State in 1958 where he was influenced by the "we can change the world" music of the seventies. After making a living playing music in California in the eighties (also learning to survive on potatoes and oranges), Jeff moved to Atlanta, rural Virginia, Seattle, and in 1993 to Hendersonville, where he resides with his wife and 3 children. He now works as a home health nurse, and continues to write songs, playing Sundays at church, and elsewhere when he can. Some thirty years of song-writing and recording in basement studios (thanks, ebay!) has allowed Jeff to produce a few home-grown CD's, one of which you may take home with you today! For free. Enjoy!

Wind is locally known as a street musician who plays the bamboo flutes and penny whistles. He currently is performing in and around Asheville singing with his acoustic guitar. Wind has been blessed to meet and perform with some national and internationally renowned recording artists and performers such as Peter Gabriel and Wynne Paris. You may have seen him perform as the lead singer with one of the bands Shiva or Cool Project. One of the greatest experience's Wind has had has been playing music with and for Great Bonobo Apes for which he is an activist. Wind supports organic food and is concerned for the world's food supply because of bio-engineering and the deforestation of the rain forests. This will be the 3rd time Wind has performed at the Oganicfest. He has also performed for the Asheville Rolling Thunder events as well as other such events in Asheville.

High Light ~ Organic originals from three local musicians combine to create & have musical fun. Chris Rosser is a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, composer and producer. As a solo singer-songwriter, he tours nationally playing at festivals, clubs and listening rooms. He plays a variety of instruments, including the Indian dotar, Turkish cumbus oud, guitars, melodica and piano. As a producer, he has produced about forty recordings for various artists in his Asheville, NC based studio Hollow Reed Studio. He was awarded a 2003 Songwriter/Composer fellowship from the NC Arts Council. www.chrisrosser.com

Recording Artist Sirena Hawk Squires (left) brings her Ancestral Native Flute Music to Organicfest again this year. With 20 years of experience playing these flutes, she packs a powerful punch with her atypical style. Collaborating with Tina Powell (right) on the Frame Drum, her energized, warrior type sound, along with some sweet melodies too, are what we can expect to hear from her at Organicfest...and we'll be glad we didn't miss it!

and the Mountain Friends Band Audiences enjoy the sound of Sherry Lynn and the Mountain Friends Band regularly at the Biltmore House, Historic Horse Barn, Sweet Heaven, Earth Fare Cafe in Asheville, NC, The Mountain Air Country Club, and Paddlers Pub in Hot Springs. The lineup exists of Sherry Lynn on guitar and vocals, Mark Weeg on fiddle, Gary Mehalik on lead guitar and vocals, Randy Burgess on mandolin and vocals, and Phil Preston on Bass and vocals. The music is high energy American swing-grass. This is a strong team that combines fine musicianship and pure joy, giving audiences a highly entertaining show.

Cliff Rubin After a successful start in the music industry that included deals with Warner Brothers and Delta Records, plus touring with notables such as Jimmy Buffet, Richie Havens, Taj Mahal, and Bachman Turner Overdrive, a near death experience put an end to his early dreams. Years of healing and reflection have brought him to a place of caring far more deeply than than his illness. His hard-earned knowledge of what's important in life and what's worth doing, expresses clearly through his new music. Cliff is currently touring nationwide.
